The WIAT-III is a valuable tool that provides families and schools with specific academic achievement levels in literacy and mathematics. It gives detailed information regarding academic performance compared with students of the same year level or chronological age.

The WIAT-III is important when deciding on whether a child needs to be accelerated, as it provides current academic performance, assists in identifying learning difficulties, academic strengths, and weaknesses. It provides additional information regarding reading, phonemic awareness, sentence structure, decoding, comprehension, spelling and auditory comprehension.

In mathematics, it assesses problem solving skills, operations and fluency in addition, subtraction, and multiplication.

Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children- Fifth Edition (WISC-V)

Felicity provides services to support families by administering the WISC-V.
The testing can be administered to identify an intellectual disability, giftedness, learning disabilities/difficulties, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (AD/HD).

The WISC-V can also provide good information regarding your child’s processing speed and working memory. If your child has difficulty following instructions or processing information, this can impact on their day to day life and their ability to perform at school.

Skills can be taught to improve a child’s working memory and executive cognitive functioning, which impacts on self-regulation day to day life.

Processing Speed

Processing speed refers to how rapidly and accurately you can process and scan visual information, make quick decisions on visual information, and implement them. It also determines your performance in visual, short term memory and concentration.
